Big Sam on Big Sam "Only Houdini can do better than me"
When it comes to self-confidence there are a few who have more than West Ham manager Sam Allardyce it seems.

With his contract up for renewal at the end of the season and a host of potential candidates waiting in the wings, the boss blew his own trumpet at his pre-match press conference yesterday (Thursday).

“I have had a great time here, enjoyed myself and enjoyed London,” he said.

“I have done what I have been asked, which is to deliver a team, which this season has been the most successful, but also the most entertaining and the most thrilling.

“It is the youngest squad we have put together since I have been here.

“If you want someone else to do more than I have, then I think you have to be calling for Houdini!”

Speculation continues, but what sort of deal is Allardyce hoping for?

“It depends on the negotiations, there is a lot to talk about,” he said. “It is not just me, it is the staff as well, it is the new players and there is the budget.

“Where do we think we are going as a football club? Are we going in the right direction? – yes. Where do we want to go and how fast do we want to get there?”

With West Ham going into the Olympic Stadium at the end of next season, does the boss see himself walking out there? Well, yes he does.

“I wouldn’t have thought it would be any different than a two-year deal based on what we have done in the past – why would it?” he asked.

“The owners have been pretty consistent. It has been a two-year, two-year, two-year deal, so that is where it will start. But it is all speculation until we sit down to negotiate.”

Some have suggested that the endless speculation has affected the form of the players, but the boss denied that.

“I don’t think so,” he added. “I think the results have been about a lack of core players and while we have managed to overcome the injuries to Winston Reid and James Tomkins, in recent weeks the lack of goals has been a big factor.”

Allardyce will welcome centre-back Reid back into the squad for the clash with Everton tomorrow (Saturday) after he missed the last three games with a hamstring strain.

Alex Song and Nene will also be vying for a starting spot after both impressed off the bench in the 1-0 defeat by Aston Villa last weekend.

For the manager, it is all about trying to achieve their targets.

“We have just got to try and get past the 50-point mark,” he said. “We are all hugely disappointed that we are not on at least
54 points by now. We would be, but for throwing points away.

“We’re still suffering from injuries, but hopefully we will get a reprieve tomorrow, put the ball in the back of the net and win the last home game.”

Two more matches to go, and then for Allardyce, the real fun and games begin in the West Ham boardroom.

There is a part of me that is beginning to like him.

It is so obvious he says things to wind people up. The 'delivering entertaining football' is one of those comments.

He is a very good fisherman and I think he knows his time is up

Re: Big Sam on Big Sam
The cunt is deluded

We have a younger more vibrant squad who can play a more exciting brand of football despite him, not because of him

The purchasing of players was taken away from him and his mates and it proved fruitful yet here he is now taking credit for it

He surely also must take the credit for re-introducing the brand of football he most feels comfortable with, the anti football brand, the boring negative one paced shite

He plays his faves as often as he can, yet everyone can see that the likes of Nolan are a busted flush

Yes he is arrogant but what has he given football to be so arrogant ?, he's won fuck all !!!!

Hope he goes abroad if he doesn't get a new contract. He'll be whoring himself left right and centre through the media and he'll be unbearable.

He'll be swanning about with Keys and Gray.

Or forming a unique entertaining and thrilling double act with Curbishley trying to look up Sarah-Jane Mee's skirt on Football First.

" Im great I am. Got Bolton into Europe played wonderful direct football. Got West Ham relegated in 2003 with their fancy Dan shit on the floor footie. Got them back up in 2012 with my wonderful direct football which thrills the nation. I'm great I am."

Your marvellous gaffer.
Samuel.

Ps It's only through the kindness of my heart I stay here. The West Ham fans haven't taken to me. But I'm the only gaffer in the world who can keep them up, the deluded idiots.
